4 Helpful Ways to Start Tapping into Your True Potential
Everyone has potential, but they often don't reach it due to a lack of opportunity, guidance, or limiting beliefs.
1. Be aware of your limiting beliefs. Over time, we can become conditioned by patterns that arise from our past experiences or the outcomes of our actions. For example, you may develop fears about trying new careers, jobs or learning a challenging skill.
2-Assess how attached you are to the beliefs of others. Consider whether any of your beliefs originate from someone else. It’s essential to recognize whether your beliefs are genuinely reflective of yourself or simply influenced by society or others. For instance, we often hear that the body weakens with age; however, this is not true for everyone. In my career and life, I have encountered many individuals who became healthier and stronger as they got older.
3- Take 10 to 15 minutes to reflect. Practice releasing old thought patterns and habits that hinder you from becoming the best version of yourself. For instance, if you recognize a recurring belief that you cannot change your old habits because it feels too difficult, use this time to shift that mindset to "Nothing is impossible; I can do this." Additionally, write down a few goals that will support you in achieving your best self.
4- Revisiting your sense of purpose involves understanding your genuine desire to become the best version of yourself. Motivation can stem from reflecting on the reasons that guide you to align your behaviors with your future self. Changing old habits can be challenging and may take time. As you work towards becoming your future self, it's important to revisit the reasons for striving to be the best version of yourself, whether for your family or your career.
